Round-The-World Journey Ends

Oregon-based landscape/travel photographer Stuart L. Gordon recently completed an 11.5 month journey that took him, his camera and his family to 22 countries before returning to their home in the Pacific Northwest
"It was a lifetime bucket list that took just shy of a year to complete," said Gordon, whose photographic prints have been exhibited in a NYC gallery and can be found in the homes and offices of private collectors and fine art aficionados.
"There's no way I can describe all the magical moments we experienced visiting places like Iceland, Patagonia, Milford Sound, Okavango Delta, Abel Tasman, The Great Ocean Drive, The Garden Route, the Swiss Alps, the Western Fjords of Norway, the Ecuadorean rainforest, Galapagos and Machu Picchu."
The trip started June 16, 2014 in Reykjavik, Iceland and ended more than 11 months later in Turks & Caicos.
Now Gordon says he faces the daunting task of curating some 8,000 photographs and editing the best of the best.

April Exhibits

BEND, OR — The photography of award-winning landscape/travel photographer Stuart L Gordon will be
showcased at two venues in downtown Bend during April’s First Friday Art Walk.
North Soles Footwear, 800 NW Wall Street, and Bend Premier Real Estate, 550 NW Franklin Ave., both will be
showcasing the work of the Bend-based photographer in April. Gordon will be on hand to tell the story behind
each of the stunning images he captured with his camera during a reception from 5 pm to 8 pm on First Friday,
April 4 at Bend Premier Real Estate’s office.
Between the two venues, more than 30 of his matted and framed images will be on display. Featured in the
exhibits are several images from the photographer’s collection of Central Oregon photographs as well as from his
extensive travels throughout the Western United States and British Columbia.

Photographer Wins Award

Award-winning conservation photographer and ShutterLove contributor Art Wolfe recently chose the winners of Chapter 1 of The Compelling Image Photography Contest. The theme for the worldwide contest, which was presented by ShutterLove and sponsored by B&H, was “Edge of the Earth, Corner of the Sky.” Photographers submitted landscapes, seascapes and images of the natural world, which were judged by Wolfe. The Grand Prize was awarded to Paul Letherbury for a beautiful shot of a lightening storm in the Grand Canyon, and first runner-up honors went to Werner Priller for a captivating photograph of star trails over Italy’s Dolomite Mountains (pictured above). Fine Art America contributing photographer Stuart L. Gordon was one of 8 other photographers to receive honorable mention. June Photo Exhibit And Fund-raiser

BEND, OR — Oregon landscape photographer Stuart L. Gordon will unveil a collection of images from his 2012 and 2013 travels throughout Oregon, Canada and the western United States at first Friday Art Walk on June 7.

Gordon’s photographs will be showcased at Bend Premier Real Estate, 550 NW Franklin Ave. Featured images in the exhibit will be from the wild & scenic portion of the Rogue River; Clayoquot Sound in British Columbia, Canada; the Valley of Fire in the Mojave Desert; Mt. Rainier National Park; Big Sur and the Eastern Sierra Nevada.

Gordon will donate 10 percent of proceeds from sales of his framed and matted prints during the exhibit to the Bethlehem Inn shelter for the homeless. The photographer also raises funds for the Central Oregon Environmental Center through his annual calendar sales featuring images of Central Oregon landscapes.

Photo Exhibit And Fund-raiser

BEND, OR — Stunning images of beautiful landscapes can do more than just look good on a wall.
They can be put to work for a good cause.
That’s just what Bend photographer Stuart L. Gordon plans to do as a followup to the successful sale of his Central Oregon Calendar on behalf of the Central Oregon Environmental Center.
Gordon will be holding an exhibition of his inspiring images of Central Oregon landscape scenes at the Environmental Center from 5 pm to 8 pm Friday, April 26, and again from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, April 27. All of the prints on display have appeared in one of the Central Oregon Calendars.
Calendar sales have raised nearly $1,000 for the Environmental Center during the past three years. At the April exhibit, images from the calendar will be for sale in a variety of sizes as both framed and unframed matted prints. Gordon will donate 30 percent of the proceeds to the Environmental Center, located at 16 NW Kansas Ave.
